August is Family Month

August proved to be our busiest month yet. Who thought that would be possible? We had family visits 3 of the 4 weekends and celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary as well.

August 8th I married the man of my dreams and best friend. We celebrated by having dinner at Market Street which is where our reception was held, ate the top of our wedding cake, YES, it was DELICIOUS as well as drinking our fair share of celebratory champagne.

The following weekend my beautiful cousin Natasha and her 5 year old daughter Hannah came into Salt Lake City for a visit from Naples, Florida. They were not able to make it to the wedding last year and we had a wonderful time with them. We went to a couple farmer's market, rode the tram to the top of Snowbird and spent some quality relaxing time together. I had my first introduction to children. Hannah is beautiful and brilliant, she had a question for a question for a question and I continued to fret that the next question would stump me...

A week of recovery was greeted with a "promotion" at my work. I have been asked to take on the role as "clinical coordinator" for the outpatient clinic I work in. I was flattered and look forward to the challenges and growth it will bring. I'll keep you updated.

Relaxing
Dad and Me
The next weekend my Dad came in for a visit. We again went to the Sugarhouse farmers market and got to spend some quality time relaxing together at my in-laws cabin. Our garden was in full bloom while he was here and we ate the majority of our meals from our garden = )

My BRO and PUPS
Finally, my brother came for a surprise visit this last weekend. It was SO MUCH fun to have him here. I also have been training to run the Top of Utah Half Marathon in Logan, UT. I have been training for the last 12 weeks. There were 4 other beautiful women who joined me.  My time was 2 hours and 20 minutes. (I was happy with this finish) We drove about an hour and a half and stayed the night before considering the race started at 7am. We were up and ready to be shuttled to the top of the canyon by 5am race morning of. We all finished and were smiling at the end. It took me until about 5pm that night to fully recover. I'm feeling great!!
My boys
We DID IT!!!

To bring everyone up to speed, we have two puppies. One is Ebony she is 9 months old and Yin who is 12 weeks old. Needless to say we have our hands full.

Also, I joined a kickball team with our wonderful and amazing neighbors, Robyn and Andy and we play games every Thursday evening. The rules are much like baseball except you kick the ball. It is always a great time to be outside, get some exercise and play.

Last but not least....we have a Physical Therapy student from Rhode Island living with us until November 20. He has an internship at the University Hospital (where I work) and needed a last minute place to stay. Josh and I decided we could open up our home to him and give him a roof over his head. His name is Aaron and he has been wonderful so far.

All in all life is in full speed. It feels like we never have a dull moment. We are living every moment at full speed~buckle up and enjoy the ride they say...THANK YOU to everyone who came to visit us and spend time with us. We LOVE YOU and enjoyed your company SO MUCH!
