RENO and the LILLYBEANS

I was lucky enough to be able to make a trip to Reno this last weekend to visit my dear friend Mal.  We have been friends since we were 10 years old!!  She and her husband Josh just have a beautiful baby girl named Lilly.  She is amazing and such a love.  It is wonderful to see Mal and Josh as parents. They are absolutely incredible. Their patience and love they have for Lilly is unmatched.

I flew into Reno on Friday night after work.  We went straight out to dinner at BJ's YUM. Lilly didn't make a peep.  I started my Saturday with a beautiful run in Rancho park with my dear friend Brenda. She was in town for a job interview (which she got!!!).  I spent the rest of the day running around with the new fam.  We ran the little one all over town.  She is such a quiet little trooper. As long as she got her afternoon feed she was perfectly content to shop till she dropped!  We took her to her first pumpkin patch.  It was such a blast and will be fun to see her there next year running around picking pumpkins and joining in all the festivities. This will be a tradition in the future I'm sure.  Saturday night Lilly was set with her lucky Giants socks.  Much to her parents pleasure they WORKED! The Giants won and are going to the World Series.

Sunday, I spent the morning with my Mom as her personal computer assistant = ) (LOVE you Mom)  Met up with Brenda for some Pneumatic pumpkin pie and coffee and then ran around town with my Mom for a bit. Finally, I joined Mal, Josh and Lilly for pumpkin carving. Lilly is just a little young for a large kitchen knife so she watched.  It was such a frustrating blast!  Mal had guts to no end in her pumpkin and mine was the thickest pumpkin I've ever carved.  Finally, last night we went to JJ's, a local Pizza joint for wings, FAT TIRE = ), and pizza and FOOTBALL.  This is a weekly tradition for the Foley family.  I even got to keep my Fat Tire pint glass. (Josh will be so EXCITED).

In talking with my dear husband I think he survived just fine while I was gone. He brewed a new batch of beer. We know have one on tap, and three in holding.  Don't think we will go dry anytime soon. Mal and Josh suggested we name our brewery. Stay tuned...  He also went to the 84th annual pumpkin carving at Grayson and Richard's.  It's always good to catch up with friends you don't see very often.

AMAZING Mother!

Overall, a great weekend!!! It is so amazing to watch your friend who you have known for a lifetime turn into a mother.  Mal, you are such an amazing Mom and I can see the light and happiness in your eyes. Lilly is so blessed to have parents and grandparents like she does.  She is showered with love, generosity and kindness from every direction.  She is going to grow up to be a beautiful woman with a loving and kind soul.  Thank you for letting me be a part of your journey.  LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!

Non-stop FUN!

The last few days have been packed!

Thursday, we played in the semi-finals with my kickball team. I am sad to report we lost = (  What a great time though. I'm definitely addicted!!  Right after the game Josh and I ran to see our FIRST ski movie of the season. The Powderwhore, Tele-vision was just released. It was a good prep and motivation for the winter that is on its way.

Friday, Robyn and Andy's parents threw an engagement party for them. I am one of the bridesmaids in the wedding.  They are getting married next July 9th. They are such a bright and beautiful couple and I am so thankful to be a part of this amazing journey with them.

Saturday, Josh worked an extra shift at work. He is trying to save up some time for a backcountry ski trip to Canada in March. So, I was left with a beautiful day to myself and the pups.  I started my running regimen back up after a month hiatus after the half marathon. It felt GREAT! Ebony was so thrilled when she saw me lacing up my shoes, she was dancing all over the living room. Yin was not sure what she was in for. This was her first run with me.  They did great, will definitely need one of those split leashes though.  Almost had a few close calls getting tangled up in the leashes.  I also went down to the Farmer's Market and got some local grub.  Finally, on Saturday night was the "end of season" kickball party. Good times were had by all.

Sunday, we had a delicious lox breakfast provided by the neighbors then went on a beautiful hike up Millcreek Canyon for the third weekend in a row. We can't seem to get enough of the beautiful changing leaves.  Sunday was concluded by the tapping and kegging of Josh's much anticipated beer. We had a BBQ with friends and a beer tasting. He did awesome! It was delicious and such a great time to get everyone together.

Overall, the best weekend the Turner's could ask for. Lots of friends, fun and beautiful fall weather.  We are so blessed in this beautiful life.
