The first half of 2012

Well, I have already broken resolution number 1 of blogging more...

BUT! here is an update of the last 5 months...

January:

Josh turned 30 and we worked our tails off to build up vacation time for the upcoming two weeks in HAWAII!!

February:

We spent the first two weeks in Hawaii with the ever gracious Landa and Enquist family.  In December a former patient and now very good friend/family invited my husband and I to join them in Hawaii for two weeks. I thought they were kidding at first, but come to find out, they were VERY serious. We would "work" for a couple of hours a day and have the rest of the time to relax and explore The Big Island of Hawaii.  We had an absolutely AMAZING time and are forever grateful to Terry, Howard, Phil and Joanna for all the wonderful memories and generous times we were allowed.

The last week my Dad came into town for a visit. He has never skied the famous Utah powder. We had a great visit and he now knows what Utah snow is!

March:

Josh finally went under the knife for knee surgery. He injured his knee skiing 2 years ago after dropping a cliff and landing on a rock under the powder. He had it scoped/cleaned last November, but he still wasn't happy with the outcome. He went in for to "big one" and had bone plugs placed in two locations along the medial femoral condyle and inferior trochlear groove. He was non-weight bearing for 6 weeks and has been making a slow recovery over the last couple months.

My brother and his girlfriend Lauren came for a LONG weekend and his yearly birthday visit/celebration.

My childhood girlfriends, Mal and Kelly and I met up in Palm Springs for a girl's weekend getaway.  We have been friends for nearly 20 years. It's amazing that after so much time, we can pick up right where we left off and have a fabulous time.

April:

Josh and I like to celebrate any chance we get. So, Josh was finally walking without crutches and we decided to go back to the room where he proposed 4 years ago in Park City and spend an evening wining and dining.

I was able to squeeze in another girls weekend in Newport Beach, California. We went in honor of Ashley's 30th birthday. We had a great time. I also got to see my uncle and cousin which was a surprise bonus!

Josh's brother, Zach and good friend Mikel came in for a week long visit. We decided to head "down south" to Goblin Valley for a camp trip. It was warm and lovely. We found a GREAT campsite, hiked Wild Horse and Bells Canyon which was a good 8 miles (you may notice Josh and his cane accessory for the hike) and explored the goblins. The pups had a great time.

The day we got back from Goblin, my brother, Chris and Lauren came in and stayed for a few days before they headed out to Yellowstone for a few days before we were to meet up with them at Jenny Lake in Teton National Park for the weekend.

Finally, my Ma had a few vacation days to burn so made the drive to Salt Lake (much to her resistance) on Thursday and spent the long weekend with us. I had to do my Saturday day work duty, but other than that we have had a great time visiting

Beautiful day hiking

We can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us. The first half has been nothing short of spectacular. Thanks for taking the time to look and read the blog. It means a lot to us to stay in touch with you all and share what we have been up to.  Hopefully, the next blog hiatus will not be as long!  LOVE to ALL!!!
